Collaboration designed to help coaches increase performance levels, mitigate injury risk, and extend career longevity across rugby union, rugby league and American football organizations
Zone7 is delighted to announce a strategic partnership with GSI Performance, the contact sports performance, skills and coaching consultancy. As part of the new agreement, GSI’s Richie Gray joins Zone7 as a Strategic Advisor, applying his experience and network across elite contact and collision sports organizations to enhance Zone7’s product offering and market presence.
It’s a great pleasure to team up with GSI Performance,” said Tal Brown, CEO and Co-Founder of Zone7. “Richie’s credibility across rugby and American football, contact and collision coaching expertise, and experience measuring key movement patterns make GSI the ideal working partner to help grow our presence across these sports.”
Zone7 entered professional rugby in a formal capacity earlier this year, when Guinness Pro14 club Ospreys announced it had adopted the platform to help manage and prevent player injuries.
GSI Performance advises on coaching methods for the tackle, collision and breakdown areas of contact sports. The company, which also invents, designs, and manufactures proprietary training equipment, and consults with the likes of World Rugby and USA Football to create contact and tackling programmes for all ages and skill levels.
“When evaluating new technologies for coaching and training I ask myself whether it will make a one percent difference at the highest level. For Zone7, the answer is yes, and much more,” said Richie Gray, Founder of GSI Performance. “We share similar outlooks on how to help coaches and athletes realise peak execution: ongoing athlete feedback, extensive reference data, and a fundamental duty of care.”
Gray is currently the contact skills coach for the Flying Fijians national rugby team.
