Zone7 partners with Valencia CF to Augment Player Availability and Performance

AI platform will empower Valencia CF coaching and physio staff by flagging risk signals and making proactive recommendations to help players reach peak performance.

Zone7 is pleased to announce a partnership with six-time La Liga champions Valencia Club de Fútbol (‘Valencia CF’) to optimize player performance and reduce player injuries.

Zone7 will analyze Valencia CF first squad players’ biometric, biomechanical, and positioning data, uncover injury risk patterns invisible to the human eye, and provide suggestions to help players reach their full potential with lower incidents of damage and burnout. Zone7 is designed to empower professional coaching and physio teams’ decision-making processes, not replace them.

“If players are not available on game day that can cause irreparable damage, both on and off the field,” said Javier Vidal, Performance Coach. “Zone7’s advanced AI understands the wellbeing of every athlete and gives us real-time insights that would take significantly longer to extract by hand. By lifting the burden of manual analysis, Zone7 lets us leverage data science without sacrificing the time we spend working intimately with players on their development.”

The current Head Coach of Valencia CF, José Bordalás, and his technical staff previously adopted Zone7 during their period at Getafe CF. In that time, the club achieved the lowest injury rates of any team in La Liga, recording a 70% reduction in injury incidents across a three-year period.

Valencia CF is the latest high-profile team to partner with Zone7, which has amassed multiple clients across the likes of the Premier League, La Liga, Serie A, and other sports including rugby and cycling. The partnership extends Zone7’s growth momentum, having recently completed its Series A round of funding to expand operations.

“We are thrilled to align with Valencia CF, one of the most decorated and prestigious teams in European soccer,” said Tal Brown, Co-Founder and CEO of Zone7. “Having worked with José (Bordalás) and Javier (Vidal) before, we are confident our experience together will yield positive results during the 2021/22 season and beyond.”
